Before like many have said, there was an on/off feeling and now it's like butter and small increments of throttle results in small increments of revs. On take off, there is a significant difference in throttle modulation. I've ridden in A mode a handful of times but spent most of the 1600 miles in STD mostly because I was lazy and didn't want to thumb different modes at start up every time, it would be nice if it remembered what setting it was on when last shut off. I started it and warmed it and from start through warm up it was a nice consistent idle. I assume it's been shipped with the most updated flash Yamaha has.įirst thing I noticed is it immediately idles way better, before it would stumble and burble like it was on the edge of dying but as it warmed it even out. I can only go off stock setting for 2016 bike. The 2 Wheel Dynoworks flash is fantastic, but if you're going to spend the money, I highly recommend Ivan's. A little startling at first, but now I am adjusting to it and liking it. The only thing that was a little strange was that when letting off the gas or hard downshifting at 6,000 rpm, engine braking was much less than the 2 Wheel flash (only at 6,000 rpm). I know we have heard before that Ivan's is "smoother", and it is. Could that have anything to do with the "smoother, crisper" feel? (for those of you techy's who understand this stuff)? 2 Wheel's calls for the 02 sensor to remain connected, while Ivan's removes the 02 sensor. If I have to put it in words (since I do not have a true Dyno) Ivan's flash is crisper, cleaner, sharper, smoother and pulls harder through the rpm range all the way to redline. Got it installed and the difference is apparent right after letting out the clutch and gassing it. (to be honest I don't truly understand it), so I sent my 2nd ECU to him. and then speaking with Ivan on the phone, he insists that his flash is the best, the "other guys" don't have access to the same things he does to fully re-program the ECU to its full potential, they can only partially access certain files, etc. shit, I have another ECU sitting on the shelf, I should send it to Ivan for his flash and see if there's a difference. Been riding with this flash for several months now, and love it.Īfter reading a thread about "who has the best flash" I got to thinking. I chose them primarily for their close work with Nick at Stoltec in the development of the FZ-09.Īs soon as I installed the new flashed ECU, need I say more than a huge smile came to my face "now this is how a bike is supposed to run and feel"! Jerkiness gone, engine braking perfect, faster, etc. and back), so I bought a used ECU on EBay and had it shipped directly to 2 Wheel Dynoworks for a flash. But living in Baja, I didn't want to be without my new bike for 3 or more weeks of downtime (shipping to the U.S. and realized I needed a flash immediately, after researching as a new Forum member. When I first bought my 2014 '09 I was shocked at the jerkiness and abrupt throttle, excessive engine braking, etc.
